Tortang Kalabasa (Squash Pancake)

Next to my cooking it three ways recipe is the squash pancake or better known as tortang kalabasa in the Filipino language. This is superb with rice and can serve as breakfast or lunch or dinner.


Here are the ingredients:

  • 5 cups of grated squash ( I used my electric grater and it's super quick and convenient)
  • finely chopped garlic and onion
  • 3 eggs
  • flour and ground oats
  • your choice of spices: dill, parsley, garlic powder, and chili flakes. 1 tsp for each except the chili flakes (1/2).
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • I also added a little bit of oyster sauce for added taste. (Not in the picture)



Mix it all together in a bowl and form into patties. Fry in medium heat for about 1 minute each side. Serve with rice and pickled peppers with ketchup. And lots of love. Enjoy.
